Why not step outside into the wilderness and take a 3.5km hike through the nature parc reserve in Puigpunyent. The views are spectacular and the walk is perfectly manageable along well signed paths. For 45 minutes or so you will go past waterfalls, over wooden bridges and through caves before arriving at a wonderful picnic area with a little bar that serves nice cheap food such as baguettes and salads and meat that you can grill on the BBQ. Lots of animals such as peacocks, donkeys, cats, ducks and goats wander freely in this area. There is even a big caged in area with a couple of sleepy brown bears to admire! After lunch and a rest, there is even an area to cool off in fresh water pools, so dont forget your swimsuits and towels. The walk back to the car park is around 25 minutes- so be prepared with suncream, good shoes and not too heavy bags for the day. Buggies are a definite no-no, so you may end up carrying little ones some of the way- we did it with a 2 year old so anyone can!

Entrance costs 14 Euros for adults, 7 Euros for kids aged 4-12 and free for anyone under 4. Dont forget to take your residents card if you live on the island, for a 10% discount. Plus www.click-mallorca.com is also a great place to look beforehand for reduced tickets. They take card at the entrance but not in the cafe/bar onsite so do take cash. And if you are driving from Palma, remember to fill up the car with fuel as the bumpy and winding roads up to the park are a long way from any gas station!
